Known as a “CRA double agent”, Randall is a rare lawyer that has both worked for and helped litigate against the CRA on personal, business and offshore tax matters.
Called to the Ontario Bar in 2023, Randall’s solicitor interests are in Canadian-UK business law with a focus on governance and Corporate Secretary practice; his barrister interests’ lie in commercial and tax litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Randall earned his Honours BCom in Law and Business with a Minor in Finance from Ryerson University in 2015. In his penultimate semester he was appointed a Federal Agent with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA); coordinating collections and Income Tax Act reporting operations involving tax arrears of $5M+.
After serving with the CRA, he earned his LLB from the University of Leicester in 2019, and joint MSc in Law, Business and Management and UK LPC from The University of Law in 2020. During this time, Randall focused his modules on international M&A, banking and finance, and securities law; offered pro bono legal support to local families facing property disputes; and was invited to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs’ (HMRC) Solicitors Office in London to meet excise tax teams.
Notably, Randall is a rare Canadian barrister and solicitor who is capable of cross-qualifying as a solicitor of England and Wales with demonstrated knowledge of pre and post-Brexit UK-EU laws.
